The United Kingdom Colour Pencil Society is pleased to announce that Galini Dimitriadou of Acocks Green, West Midlands has won a top award with her drawing in the 7th Annual United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society Open International Exhibition 2008 held from 3rd October to 28th October at the Royal West of England Academy (RWA), Queens Road, Clifton, Bristol. Faber-Castell was the principal sponsor for this year's exhibition.
Dimitriadou's "View of Torquay" was chosen for The Chairman's Award for Best Landscape by Peter Weatherhill, UKCPS, Chairman of the society. The exhibition was limited to sixty-two examples of the fine art of Coloured Pencil, including works from the UK, the USA, Austria, Switzerland, Canada and Japan.
